Job Post End Date: 02/26/2026 About this opportunity: Cenovus is seeking a Quality Control Specialist for the Lima Refinery to be responsible for championing equipment reliability through daily interactions with Maintenance, Capital Projects, and Turnaround by supporting necessary scoping, assessments, troubleshooting and recommendations that optimize the reliability of equipment and piping. This position supports Engineering and Service Providers on the reliability improvements of the refinery and is responsible for preventing quality-related equipment failures while focusing on fabrication improvements and reduced maintenance costs. • Review and approve weld procedures and welding methods for fabrication and repairs to align with Industry Standards, Best Practices, and Engineering Practices.
• Verify NDE methods or tests meet material and Code requirements and provide job-specific procedures (e.g., PWHT, H2 Bakeout) to ensure Construction Code and Engineering Practice compliance.
• Review fabrication drawings, bills of materials, inspection test plans, and approve Final Fabrication Packages and Manufacturer's Data Packages.
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities to improve refinery reliability through quality, including review of shop inspection reports and initiation of mitigating actions.
• Identify non-compliance with Codes and standards, generate and review NCRs, perform audits on vendors and service providers, and support corrective and performance improvement actions.

Who you are:

• Legally authorized to work in the US
• 8+ years of QA/QC related work experience required
• CWI (certified weld inspector) required, (ASNT)SNT-TC-1A Level II or III VT an asset
• Working knowledge of API, ASNT, AWS, and ASME NBIC codes and standards
