Position: Set Up Mold Technician
Location: Akron, OH
Shift Hours: 2nd Shift, 3 pm to 11pm – DIRECT HIRE !!!!
Pay: $20 to $24 per hour

PrideStaff is conducting a DIRECT HIRE search for their Akron plastics manufacturing client for a Set Up Mold Technician. The Set Up Mold Technician must have strong experience with Plastics Injection Molding equipment, and be able to successfully lead a small team on 2nd shift.

Essential Job Functions

• Observe meters and gauges to verify and record temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times.
• Perform maintenance work such as repairing, replacing, and cleaning parts
• Smooth and clean inner surfaces of molds, using brushes, scrapers, air hoses, or grinding wheels, and fill imperfections with refractory material.
• Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary.
• Obtain and move specified patterns to work stations, manually or using hoists, and secure patterns to machines, using wrenches.
• Inventory and record quantities of materials and finished products, requisitioning additional supplies as necessary.
• Mix and measure compounds, or weigh premixed compounds, and apply them to cavities, or molds.

Qualifications

• Strong computer proficiency including all Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint
• Ability to learn MRP system and have strong time management skills
• Knowledge of basic math skills along with some more complex formulas including measurements
• Must demonstrate deductive, troubleshooting, and mechanical reasoning skills
• Must correctly practice all safety procedures
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Skill in the use of hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, and other related equipment
• Strong team player with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Proper PPE is required. Potential to be very hot in the summer months and cold during the winter.
