Muskingum University Library is seeking a full-time Administrative & Serials Assistant.
FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION:
Responsible for processing and maintaining the Government Documents collection as well as the periodical collection, both in print and electronic forms.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and maintain all Government Documents, following government requirements and Sierra processes
- Maintain the physical collection
- Resolve any problems regarding Government Documents
- Process and maintain all Journals and Serials
- Maintain the holdings list
- Weeding of the collection, in conjunction with the Director
- Workflow design
- Opening the library
- Cover Welcome Center desk when needed
- Supervise students workers assigned to Government Documents and Serials/Journals
- Bookkeeping
- Process invoices
- Check all library accounts against budget every week
- Provide monthly budget reports for the Director
- Reconcile and record cash register transactions
- Make deposits to business office as necessary
- Maintain and order office supplies
- Open and distribute mail
- Process fax and lamination requests from patrons
Must have excellent computer skills such as Excel, Word and online searching. Associate degree preferred.
