Gas Turbine & Power Systems Assembly Lead
Own the Assembly Floor—Quality, Throughput, and Team Excellence
We’re looking for an experienced leader to coordinate complex mechanical assemblies and testing for gas turbine and power generation programs. You’ll turn schedules into action, align resources, and ensure every build meets the spec—safely, on time, and on cost.

What You’ll Own
- Ensure SOP comprehension and adherence to prevent mistakes and nonconformances.
- Verify that all required characteristics are inspected and documented per the Operator Characteristics Claim Sheet.
- Lead/assist root-cause investigations with Quality; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Technical Services and Quality Assurance to eliminate process risk and variation.
- Pre-stage material before scheduled operation start; keep work centers ready.
- Assign tasks with expected standard times and methods; confirm resources meet routed plans.
- Monitor progress; anticipate and resolve issues that could disrupt flow or delay delivery.
- Participate in daily production meetings; align staffing and authorize overtime to meet throughput goals.
- Observe work, identify waste, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Provide training and cross-training so team members can support multiple assignments.
- Conduct timely, objective performance appraisals centered on quality, output, and policy adherence.
- Recognize outstanding performance; when needed, enact fair, consistent corrective action per policy.
What You Bring
- 5+ years supervisory/management experience in mechanical assembly, testing, gas turbines, or power generation.
- High school diploma required; technical degree preferred.
- Aerospace/defense program familiarity preferred.
- Progressive, hands-on manufacturing achievements over 5+ years.
- Proven leadership: consensus-building, followership, and directive clarity.
- Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and deadline discipline.
- Problem-solver who defines issues, sets a course of action, and executes.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and electronic time/labor systems.
- Ability to quickly master production operations and machinery.

Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move across the floor for up to 10 hours/day.
- Use hands/fingers frequently; lift, carry, and handle parts/materials.
- Lift/move up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Read blueprints, inspect fine details, and identify defects.
- Hear alarms and communicate in a noisy environment.
- Bend, reach, kneel, and squat to inspect/oversee processes and ensure safety compliance.
- Wear PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes) all day.
Mental Demands
- Lead decisively under pressure; delegate to meet production milestones.
- Analyze issues on the line and drive corrective action.
- Maintain exacting quality standards and compliance for defense-related work.
- Juggle multiple priorities: supervision, scheduling, and targets.
- Stay composed in high-stress, time-sensitive situations.
- Communicate clearly upward and across the team.
- Apply knowledge of defense regulations (e.g., ITAR) and quality standards to ensure compliance.
