Healspace LLC is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations at the Monroe Street location and across affiliated behavioral health services. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance, supporting leadership, and ensuring consistent execution of HR processes that align with organizational standards, payer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage employee matters in a structured and professional manner within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for employee relations, compliance oversight, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR operational support. This position works closely with executive leadership and Directors of Operations to ensure that all HR practices are applied consistently and in accordance with federal, state, and organizational standards. The role operates with a high level of accountability and requires independent decision-making within established guidelines while supporting ongoing organizational growth and operational stability. This position is initially structured as part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time based on organizational needs and demonstrated performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Relations
Manage employee relations matters including coaching, performance concerns, corrective action, and documentation
Conduct workplace investigations and ensure findings are documented clearly and appropriately
Provide guidance to managers on employee performance, attendance, and behavioral expectations
Ensure consistency and fairness in the application of policies and disciplinary actions
Support leadership with employee engagement, retention efforts, and workplace culture initiatives

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC regulations, and Ohio labor requirements
Support compliance with behavioral health and healthcare standards including CARF, OhioMHAS, and applicable Medicaid requirements
Maintain accurate and audit-ready personnel files, including onboarding documentation, disciplinary records, and licensure tracking
Monitor employee licensure, certifications, background checks, exclusion screenings, and credentialing requirements
Ensure all required employment documentation is completed and maintained in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Recruitment and Onboarding
Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation
Coordinate and facilitate onboarding processes, ensuring completion of all required employment documentation and compliance items
Ensure new hires meet credentialing and operational requirements prior to start
Conduct new hire orientation and ensure understanding of Healspace policies, expectations, and systems

Benefits and HR Operations
Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, and leave programs
Serve as point of contact for employee benefit questions and vendor coordination
Support open enrollment processes and benefits communication
Assist with payroll coordination, timekeeping oversight, and resolution of discrepancies in partnership with operations and finance
Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS system, including status changes, compensation updates, and compliance records

Policy and Process Administration
Enforce company policies and procedures consistently across all departments
Assist with development and updates to HR policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
Support leadership with workforce planning, retention strategies, and organizational structure
Ensure all HR processes are documented, standardized, and followed consistently across the organization

Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Minimum of 2 to 4 years of Human Resources experience required
Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or a regulated environment preferred
Strong knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements
Experience handling employee relations and workplace investigations
Proficiency in HRIS systems, with Paycor experience preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion

Certifications Preferred but Not Required
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR

Work Environment

This position is based on-site at the Monroe Street location in Toledo, Ohio. Upon successful completion of the introductory period, limited remote work may be considered based on business needs and performance.
Regular interaction with clinical, administrative, and executive staff
May require limited travel between affiliated locations
Must maintain strict confidentiality in all HR-related matters
