Shift Manager Mechanical Maintenance

Cleveland-Cliffs, Cleveland Works has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Mechanical Maintenance at the Cleveland, OH facility. The Shift Manager Mechanical Maintenance is a front-line supervisory position responsible for managing the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities within the assigned area of responsibility to ensure a reliable, safe, and continually improved operation.

Summary of Responsibilities Managing the maintenance of mechanical equipment and providing the day-to-day supervision of the Maintenance Technician Mechanics (MTMs) within assigned division. Develop into a maintenance expert for the maintenance systems within assigned area. Act as a coach to employees and ensure that they have the tools and knowledge required to safely perform their job. Manage spending budget using project management skills, and a thorough understanding of the processes needed to properly maintain the equipment within assigned area. Interact with Purchasing, Operations, Maintenance, Op Tech/Continuous Improvement, Accounting, Engineering, Vendors and Suppliers and counterparts from other plants. Develop a maintenance strategy that would ensure a high level of equipment reliability. Weekends and shift work may be required. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing/industrial environment or the military. Must be able to work in a hot, dusty environment, including climbing stairs, ladders, and walking inclines. Also, able to work/walk safely on uneven surfaces and outdoors in all weather. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience. 2 years of supervisory experience in heavy industry or the military Steel mill experience is preferred. Experience working with a computer-based PM and/or equipment reliability program. The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $110,000. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
