PCU Nursing Job Details Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting: PCU Float Pool (includes Ross Heart, Brain & Spine, Dodd, and other step-down/PCU units) Assignment Type: Locum tenens travel contract Start Date: September 22, 2025 End Date: January 12, 2026 Contract Duration: 16 weeks Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30) Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 Weekend Coverage: Required Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$1990 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years recent PCU or step-down RN experience Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license) Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program BLS and ACLS certifications (required for travel nursing jobs) NIHSS certification preferred EPIC charting experience required Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, insulin drip titration, tracheostomy management, wound care, and more Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity Two professional references (one from supervisor/manager) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) PCU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in PCU and step-down settings Float between units and campuses, adapting to diverse patient populations Initiate and manage IVs, monitor telemetry, and respond to rapid response situations Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy) Accurately document patient care using EPIC Participate in pre/post-procedure care, wound management, and patient/family education Maintain compliance with facility policies, urgent fingerprinting, and credentialing requirements Apply now to join our healthcare team in Columbus, Ohio and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
