UberData is seeking a technically strong, early-to-mid career Sales Engineer to support our sales team in designing and presenting advanced network infrastructure solutions. This role bridges engineering and sales – working with customers to understand requirements, develop technical architectures, and support proposals for next-generation networking solutions. We are looking for someone with a solid networking foundation who wants to grow into a senior technical leadership role in a fast-moving systems integrator.

Responsibilities

• Partner with account managers during customer discovery, technical presentations, and solution development
• Design network architectures including switching, routing, wireless, security, and optical LAN solutions
• Perform technical discovery with customer IT teams to understand operational requirements and constraints
• Assist with technical proposals, bill-of-materials (BOM) development, and RFP responses
• Deliver technical demonstrations and presentations to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Support proof-of-concept testing, lab validation, and solution demonstrations
• Participate in limited hands-on engineering activities including network configuration review, troubleshooting support, and deployment assistance when needed
• Work closely with UberData engineering teams to translate real-world deployment experience into practical customer solutions
• Collaborate with vendor partners (Juniper, Aruba, Ruckus, etc.) on solution design and technical validation
• Participate in occasional on-site customer meetings, design workshops, and project kickoffs

Requirements

• Proven experience in technical sales or pre-sales roles within networking or IT environments.
• Strong understanding of computer networking concepts, including LAN/WAN architecture.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, along with virtualization technologies like VMware.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, Python scripting, Bash (Unix shell), and analysis skills for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Familiarity with product demos, solution architecture, and project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Experience + Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Network Engineer or Systems Engineer
• 2+ years experience supporting pre-sales or sales engineering activities
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking (routing, switching, wireless)
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers
• Experience working with major networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Ruckus)

Educations | Certifications Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
• Industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, Aruba, Ruckus, etc.)
• Experience supporting system integrator and/or MSP environments
• Experience with network design tools wireless surveys
