We Excel Cincinnati (WEC) is a parent-led educational advocacy nonprofit focused on improving literacy outcomes and empowering families within Cincinnati Public Schools. Our programs — including Read to Rise and Parent Power Sessions reflect a dual strategy of direct literacy intervention and family empowerment. WEC operates with the belief that when parents are organized and informed, entire communities rise.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Parent Outreach Coordinator is a passionate, people-first community mobilizer responsible for connecting Cincinnati families to WEC's programs, events, and advocacy work. This role is at the heart of our movement you will lead conversations, build trust, and show up in neighborhoods to ensure every family knows they have a seat at the table.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead Parent Power Sessions and community presentations, facilitating engaging, accessible workshops for families across Cincinnati Public Schools.
• Conduct neighborhood canvassing to build relationships with families, share WEC's mission, and drive program participation.
• Represent WEC at community events, school meetings, and public forums to grow our network and ambassador base.
• Coordinate and support outreach logistics, including scheduling, follow-up, and participant tracking using WEC's CRM and digital tools.
• Maintain organized records of family contacts, outreach activities, and engagement data using provided iPad/phone and Google Suite tools.
• Collaborate with WEC staff and program leads to align outreach efforts with active programming, including Read to Rise literacy initiatives.
• Support the recruitment and coordination of Parent and Junior Ambassadors as part of WEC's community infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Must reside in Cincinnati, OH
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar)
• Comfort with CRM platforms or willingness to learn
• Genuine belief in parent-led advocacy and educational equity
• Reliable, self-directed, and accountable — able to work independently in community settings

Preferred

• Prior experience in community organizing, family engagement, or education advocacy
• Existing connections within Cincinnati Public Schools or neighborhoods
• Experience with canvassing, grassroots outreach, or civic engagement campaigns

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
