Construction Laborer

Position Summary:
As a Construction Laborer at Janotta & Herner, you will play a crucial role in supporting construction projects by performing various tasks to ensure smooth operations at the worksite. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation, operation, and cleanup of construction sites, as well as carrying out manual labor tasks.
Essential Functions:

1. Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing obstacles, setting up barriers, and other tasks as assigned by the project manager.
2. Provide support to various trades, such as carpenters, concrete workers, iron workers and equipment operators.
3. Operate hand and power tools.
4. Load and unload construction materials and equipment.
5. Organize and maintain the construction site to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
6. Remove debris, and waste materials from construction sites.
7. Assist in the setup and operation of construction machinery and equipment.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Use of powered and powder actuated tools.
• Operating vehicles and equipment.
• Working at heights.

Working Conditions:
A significant portion of your work will take place outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and sunlight. General start and stop times vary depending on the project, but normally range from 7:00am-3:30pm. Occasional overtime work is to be expected.
