About the Role:
The Project Executive for the Commercial & Industrial Sector plays a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the successful execution of large-scale construction projects within the commercial and industrial domains. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while meeting client expectations and regulatory requirements. The role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination across multiple teams including design, procurement, and construction to optimize project outcomes. The Project Executive acts as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Ultimately, this role ensures that all commercial and industrial construction projects contribute positively to the company’s growth and reputation in the United States market.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management within the commercial and industrial construction sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects in the United States.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with advanced project management software and tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Procore.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Experience working with diverse teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of commercial and industrial construction projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient workflow.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes to secure quality materials and services at competitive prices.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project reports and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project performance and implementing best practices.
Skills:
The required and preferred skills are integral to the daily responsibilities of the Project Executive role. Strong leadership and communication skills enable effective coordination among multidisciplinary teams and clear client interactions. Expertise in project management software facilitates detailed scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking, ensuring projects remain on course. Negotiation and contract management skills are essential for securing favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors, directly impacting project profitability. Additionally, knowledge of safety regulations and sustainable building practices ensures compliance and promotes environmentally responsible construction, enhancing the company’s reputation and operational excellence.
