Counter sales associate - electrical supply

Job Summary
Our Dickman Supply, Inc., Dayton location is looking to add an enthusiastic candidate with Electrical knowledge to join our team and fulfill the available Counter Sales position.

In addition to being a “public face” of the company in this role, you will also be responsible for greeting, establishing, and maintaining all customers’ relations in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner. Processes customer orders accurately and efficiently. Strive to improve product knowledge to offer wholesale electrical solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process customer counter and telephone product orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain superior knowledge and awareness of all Dickman Supply products and pricing structure
• Identify products that are not regular or stock items. Report inventory discrepancies to Store Mgr. and recommend addition or deletion of products to the store manager
• Promote and sell company’s product promotions
• Addresses all customer complaints and/or inquiries promptly. Assures quitable resolution to maximize customer satisfaction
• Perform warehouse functions as needed. Practices warehouse safety habits

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years industry electrical experience
• Electrical Product and application knowledge, including ability to read and interpret manufacturer catalogs
• Proficiency in entering orders, utilization of software system
• Essential customer service and communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• PC proficiency and utilization of Microsoft Office applications
• Initiative-taker that is reliable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to lift (up to 30lbs)
• Bend, kneel and sit for short and extended periods of time
