• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) — Columbus nursing jobs, Ohio travel nurse
• Assignment Type: Travel (13 weeks)
• Unit: Postpartum / ObGyn — 7 West Doan Hall and 7 West Rhodes Hall
• Setting: 40-bed inpatient postpartum unit providing family-centered and couplet care
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• End Date: July 20, 2026
• Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30) — 36 hours/week
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,720–$1,820/week

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent postpartum/Mother-Baby RN experience
• Active RN license (Ohio state license or Compact RN license required at submission)
• BLS certification required
• IV certification with strong IV start skills
• Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience (electronic medical record experience preferred)
• Telemetry interpretation skills — must pass EKG exam prior to start
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leader)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after booking
• NRP certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postpartum and couplet care to mothers and newborns as a Postpartum RN / Mother-Baby RN
• Perform newborn assessments, cord care, metabolic screens, and phototherapy
• Administer medications, including IV antibiotics, insulin drips, heparin, antihypertensives, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Monitor and interpret telemetry; respond to rapid response situations and emergent needs
• Educate and support parents on breastfeeding, circumcision care, discharge instructions, and newborn care
• Care for patients with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, and wound infections
• Float to units of similar acuity within the organization as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
