SageMaker Platform Engineer

Onsite in Cincinnati, OH

The organization seeks a SageMaker Platform Engineer to support and enhance an AWS-based machine learning platform. The role will focus on infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, CI/CD automation, and core AWS services to enable secure and efficient model development and deployment. The engineer will monitor reliability and cost, troubleshoot platform issues, and collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers. The position requires experience with AWS, Python, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.

Rate: $83.00 to $93.00/hr. w2

• Assist in building, maintaining, and improving AWS infrastructure supporting Amazon SageMaker and related ML services.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision, manage, and version cloud resources.
• Assist with CI/CD pipeline development and automation for infrastructure and ML workflows.
• Help design, implement, and maintain core components and services using best practices for cloud architecture and security.
• Monitor platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency, and assist in troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand platform needs and improve stakeholder experience.
• Participate in documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge sharing.

• Proficiency with AWS networking, security, EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, and SQS.
• Experience developing in Python for Lambda services and scripting.
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to Linux-based environments and shell scripting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Amazon SageMaker or other ML platform tooling (preferred).
• Understanding of machine learning workflows including training, inference, data pipelines, and batch or realtime execution patterns (preferred).
• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes (preferred).
• Experience developing OIDC-integrated applications (preferred).
