The Hilton Columbus Downtown is currently seeking a Senior Sous Chef (Chef Tournant) to join their talented banquets and restaurant team!
Nestled in the heart of the Short North Arts District, Hilton Columbus Downtown is one of Hilton’s premier AAA Four Diamond urban properties. This award‑winning hotel features 1,000 elegantly appointed guest rooms, more than 75,000 sq. ft. of versatile event space, and six distinct food and beverage outlets from its signature restaurant FYR to its rooftop bar Stories on High, making it one of the most dynamic hospitality environments in the region.

The ideal Senior Sous Chef (Chef Tournant) candidate is an experienced culinary professional with 3–5 years of supervisor or sous chef experience. This candidate must have solid banquet experience, demonstrating confidence in large‑scale production, organization, and execution while upholding impeccable quality and consistency.
This candidate must be highly adaptable and thrive in a dynamic, multi‑outlet property, seamlessly supporting Banquets and outlets such as Gallerie Bar and Bistro, Stories on High, and the signature live‑fire restaurant FYR. They will be versatile and highly skilled culinary professional with a passion for excellence and an eagerness to grow within a dynamic, high‑volume hotel environment.
What will I be doing?
The Senior Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef & Banquet Chef with overseeing the culinary team and operations primarily in banquets and select outlets. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Preparing, cooking, and presenting food in alignment with quality standards, productivity goals, cost controls, and forecast needs.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation standards while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Assist the Executive Chef & Banquet Chef with managing the kitchen staff, including cooks and other personnel.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Monitor production flow and product quality to maintain efficiency and excellence.
Train, supervise, support, schedule and evaluate kitchen staff to ensure optimal performance.
Provide strong leadership and foster teamwork among the culinary team.
Encourage creativity and passion for culinary excellence within the team.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations in conjunction with ECOSURE.
