Medical Assistant - Pediatric Cardiology

As a Medical Assistant on our Pediatric Cardiology team, you will be an essential part of delivering compassionate, high-quality care to infants, children, and their families. You will help create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment while working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care. In this role, you will provide both clinical and administrative support, including patient intake and rooming, medication support, and patient monitoring. You will assist providers with in-office procedures and injections by preparing equipment and ensuring exam rooms are properly set up. The Medical Assistant will also perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), apply cardiac monitors, and collaborate directly with cardiologists in the delivery of specialized pediatric cardiac care.
This position offers broad clinical exposure and hands-on experience in pediatric cardiology, with opportunities to develop skills in patient care, compliance, and interdisciplinary coordination. Comfort and confidence working with infants and toddlers is essential, as you will play a key role in supporting our youngest patients and their families throughout their visits.
A caregiver in this position works MondayFriday| 8:00am4:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
- Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (as designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee) OR Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
- Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period).
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Medical Assisting Certification.
- Successful completion of Cleveland Clinic Externship.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
- Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
- Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
