Dishwasher

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods; and also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

1. Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine
2. Sorts and stacks clean dishes and carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas; rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
3. Changes dishwater in dish machine every hour
4. Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
5. Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area when needed
6. Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
7. Assembles/disassembles dish machine, as necessary
8. Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and free of hazards
9. Notifies manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
10. Ensures that hands are always sanitized before handling clean dishes, as well as maintains other sanitary procedures
11. Removes food trash and garbage to dumpster, as necessary
12. Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

Skills & Abilities

Education: None

Experience: Six (6) months or more of commercial dishwashing experience desired

Other Requirements: Must be able to read labels on chemicals; knowledge of workplace safety procedures; must be able to adhere to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook.
