Wax Department Lead

- Coordinate and prioritize daily work assignments for Wax personnel to meet production schedules.
- Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and equipment usage to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all wax patterns and assemblies meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and escalate complex concerns to supervisors or engineering as needed.
- Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Conduct in-process inspections and ensure defects are identified, documented, and addressed promptly.
- Collaborate with the wax supervisor and process engineering to address audit findings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scrap reduction and process optimization.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Wax team members.
- Responsible for training new hires and cross-training existing employees.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment aligned with company values.
- Communicate performance expectations clearly and consistently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements.
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe and organized work environment (6S principles).
- Report and document safety incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly.
- Communicate employee relations matters, performance concerns and any problems to your supervisor.
- Reinforce company policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Participate in cost reduction efforts.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in wax dimensional inspection, injection, and/or assembly
- Prior leadership or lead experience is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of wax assembly processes and production workflows.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, conflict management, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and understanding of Oracle
