PRN Gift Shop Clerk

As a Gift Shop Clerk, you will support the daily operations of the Corner Shop at Union Hospital. As a member of this team, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors and fellow staff. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a supportive environment where you can develop long-lasting relationships, interact with a diverse population and gain hands-on experience within a healthcare setting.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM - 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Assist with receiving, stocking, displaying and selling gift shop merchandise.
- Greet customers and assist with purchase selections.
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit card and debit card.
- Issue receipts, change, credits or refunds.
- Assist with monitoring inventory and restocking shelves and displays.
- Send invoices to accounts payable for payment.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a retail setting, maintaining cash/check/charge sales, receipts and deposits and paying invoices/maintaining financial reports

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office and laboratory equipment
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
