Director of Family and Outreach Ministries

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Directly Supervises: Nursery attendants

Status: Full-time

Job Summary: The Director of Family and Outreach Ministries is responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing holistic ministry with children, youth, and families (K–12). This is a full-time, rebuilding role that is intentionally balanced, with approximately half of the Director’s time devoted to nurturing faith formation and equipping families within the church, and the other half dedicated to engaging families in the broader Findlay community through outreach and relationship building. In the spirit of John Wesley’s vision that “the world is my parish,” this role embraces a ministry that extends beyond the walls of the church, fostering meaningful connections and demonstrating God’s love throughout the wider community.

Within the congregation, this role nurtures faith formation for children and youth, empowers volunteers, parents and caregivers as spiritual leaders, and creates inclusive spaces where families of all configurations and sizes can thrive. A central emphasis of this ministry is helping children, youth, and families grow as lifelong followers of Jesus through service—understanding service as both an act of compassion and a vital practice of spiritual formation.

Beyond the congregation, the outreach dimension of this role not only engages children, teens, and families in the Findlay community, but also calls the larger church family into meaningful opportunities for outreach and service. A crucial part of this position is the ability to build, equip, and sustain teams of lay leaders and volunteers, working collaboratively to extend the church’s ministry impact. The Director of Family and Outreach Ministries will lead with creativity and care, inspiring others to join in this vital work of discipleship, outreach, and community engagement.
