Overview:

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Forklift Driver (Utility) at our Leetonia, OH location. This role has primary responsibilities including assisting and performing duties alongside press crew members as directed. The role will extend to the efficient movement of materials throughout the plant, utilizing mobile powered equipment to ensure seamless workflow. In addition to supporting press operations, the Utility role plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This includes the provision of various supplies to different departments and the timely disposal of waste by emptying trash as directed. Adaptability, attention to detail, and willingness to collaborate will be key attributes in contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists pack and press team as needed
  • Loads and unloads trucks as needed
  • Operates mobile powered equipment in a safe and efficient manner moving supplies and material throughout the plant
  • Must attend and pass Forklift Operators Safety course
  • Empties trash containers as needed
  • Empties scrap hoppers
  • Makes sure forklift is maintained in a safe working order. Reports any defects to Foreman or Supervisor. Completes preventative maintenance and corresponding paperwork as directed
  • Replaces propane bottle refueling mobile powered equipment as needed. Places empty propane bottle in the proper area
  • Completes any paperwork required by the position
  • Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly plant, ensuring aisle ways are kept clear
  • Performs general housekeeping duties as directed
  • Follows company rules and regulations regarding work and safety practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • One or more years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to operate mobile powered equipment, function independently or in a team environment and possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
  • Willingness to work in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors, and in different weather conditions
  • Consistently exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards co-workers and customers
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Regular attendance required
