The ideal Sous Chef candidate is a passionate and driven culinary professional with 2–4 years of experience in a kitchen supervisor or management role in high volume restaurants. They bring proven leadership skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards. This candidate is fully flexible with scheduling needs and excels in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Creativity is essential, as they will contribute to menu development and deliver memorable, high‑quality dining experiences that align with the restaurant’s elevated standards.
Full-Time
Pay Rate: $65,000 annually
Shift Pattern: Flexible including weekends and holidays
What will I be doing?
As Sous Chef, you would be responsible for assisting with the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, specifically within The Burnham Restaurant, in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, a Sous Chef would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability
Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines.
Contribute to menu development through creativity, trend awareness, and cost‑effective planning.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and reward
