Assistant Teaching Professor/Assistant Lecturer position to teach multiple sections of ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking and advise students and provide service to the institution, and the discipline.Job Description
ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking is part of the required First-Year Integrated Core (FYIC) curriculum for all Farmer School of Business majors. The FYIC is an innovative four-course bundle that teaches students key skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, computational thinking & coding, ethical thinking, communication, and collaboration. As an ESP 103 team member, you will be a part of a faculty team who work together to integrate these key skills across all four FYIC classes (BUS 101: Foundations of Business; BUS 102: Foundations of Business Communication; ESP 103: Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking; and BUS 104: Introduction to Computational Thinking for Business).
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Doctorate degree in business or closely related field by date of appointment and related teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness for appointment of Assistant Teaching Professor; Master’s degree and five years of managerial, executive level, or professional experience, and have related teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness for appointment of Assistant Lecturer.
Consideration may be given to candidates with multiple years of experience engaging with varied
industry clients, at least ten years of entrepreneurial experience in start-up, corporate, creative, or social entrepreneurship; demonstrated evidence of instructional design; and/or a combination of education and professional experiences around innovation, organizational change, problem solving, design, or idea generation, shares the values of collaboration, entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in undergraduate teaching. The ideal candidate will be interested in contributing to teaching outside the box as part of a team, have expertise in teaching within the field, and the ability to communicate effectively with first year students.
