Perioperative Technician-Gastroenterology (Columbus)

Overview:

40 hours per week. 4 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, Day Shift, Hours will vary from 6am-11:30pm.

Or

40 hours per week. 5 8-hour shifts

Occasional weekends, holiday, and call

Non-exempt, Benefits Eligible.

Pay starts at $20.00 + based on experience

Job Description Summary:

Performs a variety of technical and supportive tasks to assist daily clinical operations. Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares operating rooms for surgery by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Assists surgical team with use of instruments and supplies.
• Maintains inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Assists clinical staff with transferring and positioning patients as needed.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

BLS Certification, preferred.

Skills:

• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
• Ability torespond appropriately tolife threatening situations.
• Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
• Ability to workunder pressure in a stressful environment.
• Working knowledge of supply chain ormaterials management.
• Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.

Experience:

Previous health care experience, preferred.
