Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in Step Down or Progressive Care Unit License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac experience is required. Experience with CABG and valve post-operative care is mandatory. Must have EPIC experience. Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Must have experience demonstrating a 1:5 patient ratio. Description: Registered Nurses will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a Step Down Unit. Cardiac experience is essential, including pre- and post-operative management for CABG and valve surgeries. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to care for advanced cardiac patients, including telemetry monitoring. Experience in a Step Down Unit or Progressive Care Unit is crucial; ICU experience is not considered equivalent. Nurses will be required to manage bedside care and handle complex nursing situations with confidence. Staff will float to other units as necessary based on patient care demands. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census. Travelers will be fitted for N95 prior to working unless alternative equipment is needed. Flexibility in work assignment and willingness to support different teams is expected. All nurses must manage their time effectively and be proactive in patient care. Unit specialties include advanced heart and vascular care as well as associated lung cases.
