About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Superintendent to lead daily manufacturing operations at our facility. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while driving continuous improvement and building a strong, positive team culture.
The ideal candidate brings strong operational expertise, proven leadership experience, and a deep commitment to safety, productivity, and team development. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including maintenance, quality, supply chain, and senior leadership to achieve production goals and support overall business success.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee all aspects of plant operations including production, maintenance, safety, and quality
- Ensure production schedules are met while maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime
- Partner with HR and senior leadership on workforce and operational needs
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop team leaders and plant personnel
- Manage staffing, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Lead safety audits, reviews, and incident investigations
- Prepare and submit required safety and environmental reports in partnership with EH&S
Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to product quality standards and specifications
- Collaborate with QA teams to resolve production issues and improve processes
Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
- Drive plant-wide continuous improvement efforts and 5S programs
Supply Chain & Inventory Coordination
- Work closely with supply chain, logistics, and procurement teams
- Ensure efficient flow of materials and finished goods
Reporting & Budgeting
- Maintain production metrics, downtime logs, and performance reports
- Develop and manage budgets to support cost control and operational goals
Maintenance Oversight
- Coordinate with maintenance and CI teams on repairs and preventive maintenance schedules
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven success improving operational performance through continuous improvement
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, quality systems, and production best practices

- Clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization
- Technical understanding of manufacturing systems, machinery, and ERP/MES systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lead change and drive measurable results
- Direct oversight of approximately 5 salaried and 23 hourly employees
- Active manufacturing environment (indoor and outdoor exposure)
- Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Required use of PPE
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting
- Primarily local travel with occasional overnight travel as needed
