Principal Java / Kafka Developer
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Principal Java/Kafka Developer in Westlake, TX. Responsibilities:
- Principal Java/Kafka Developer will develop full-stack applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Build responsive Angular UI applications with NgRx and TypeScript
- Design and implement REST APIs for financial services platforms
- Develop and support data ingestion services using MQ/Kafka technologies
- Work with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, Redis, Aerospike, DynamoDB)
- Integrate financial messaging protocols like FIX
- Utilize AWS cloud technologies for scalable deployments
- Apply DevOps practices using Jenkins, Concourse, Docker, and Git workflows
- As a Principal Java/Kafka Developer, you will ensure modular, scalable platform design aligned with Agile methodologies
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Continuously improve code quality and engineering practices in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in distributed application development
- Experience with Kafka/MQ for data ingestion and FIX protocol
- Familiar with AWS, Git workflows, Jenkins, Docker, and Concourse
- Strong skills in Angular, NgRx, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
- Skilled in relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Redis, Aerospike, DynamoDB)
- Comfortable in Agile environments with CI/CD exposure
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Passion for clean code and continuous learning
