Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Tax Director with deep expertise in pass-through entity taxation (partnerships, LLCs, and S corporations) and multi-state tax compliance and planning . This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and advisory services related to complex pass-through structures operating across multiple state jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in federal and state income taxation and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the preparation and review of federal and multi-state tax filings for partnerships, LLCs, and S corporations.

• Develop and implement tax planning strategies for pass-through entities to optimize tax positions and ensure compliance.

• Oversee state and local income/franchise tax compliance and planning across numerous jurisdictions.

• Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory tax law developments (federal and state), assess impact, and communicate implications to leadership.

• Provide technical tax guidance on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and structuring of new entities.

• Serve as a key point of contact for external tax advisors and state tax authorities, managing audits and correspondence.

• Mentor and develop team members, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.

• Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decision-making.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive tax experience, with a strong concentration in pass-through entity taxation and multi-state tax.

• Prior experience in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department with a complex pass-through structure is highly desirable.

• Extensive knowledge of federal partnership taxation (Subchapter K), S corporations, and state income/franchise tax rules.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Experience with tax research tools (e.g., CCH, Ultra Tax), tax compliance software, and workflow management platforms.
