Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Services Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend services and modern web applications. This role requires strong technical leadership, deep expertise in Java and related technologies, and a solid foundation in full-stack development principles. The ideal candidate embraces modern engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), GraphQL APIs, and Contract Testing to ensure code quality, system resilience, and team efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java-based backend systems and microservices.

• Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure high code quality and reliability.

• Build and integrate GraphQL APIs for efficient data querying and flexible client-server communication.

• Develop and maintain robust contract tests to validate service contracts and minimize integration issues between services.

• Lead architecture and technical design discussions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and project goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, designers, DevOps, and QA engineers for end-to-end project delivery.

• Modify and enhance existing software to correct defects, adapt to new requirements, or optimize performance.

• Provide technical mentorship, perform code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.

• Contribute to DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines, performance monitoring, and deployment automation.

• Drive continuous improvement across code quality, team collaboration, and agile delivery.

Skills and Requirements

Technical Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.

• Proven experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) using tools like JUnit, Mockito, or Spock.

• Proficiency in GraphQL schema design, query optimization, and integration with backend systems.

• Experience with contract testing frameworks such as Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, or similar.

• Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React) is a plus.

• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Strong skills in version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile software development methodologies.

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. - Prior experience leading high-performing engineering teams and mentoring developers.

• Background in enterprise-grade distributed systems and event-driven architecture.

• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace).

• Passion for clean, maintainable code and scalable architecture.
