Maintenance Technician II Facilities Services 2
Description
General Summary:
Performs plumbing work including installing maintaining and repairing plumbing and heating systems.
Essential Duties:
Installs new plumbing including pipes valves drains basins faucets lavatories sinks drinking fountains hot water heaters and a variety of other plumbing fixtures and equipment;
Repairs plumbing systems including pipelines;
Repairs chilled and heated water systems;
Repairs various appliances including laundry and kitchen equipment;
Reads and interprets blueprints and written instructions;
Provides assistance to building maintenance as needed;
And confers with supervisor concerning construction alteration maintenance and repair projects.
Other Duties as assigned.

Education
Required:High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

Required:At least three years of experience.

Required:Texas Journeyman Plumbers license.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Typical:Methods practices and equipment used in cooling and heating systems installation maintenance and repair. Safe operation of plumbing electrical and mechanical equipment. Read and interpret blueprints manuals and written instructions; operate electrical and plumbing equipment; apply safety standards to prevent hazards; estimate time and materials for projects; communicate effectively; tolerate adverse working conditions; work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
