Maintenance Technician II Facilities Services 2

Description

General Summary:

Performs plumbing work including installing maintaining and repairing plumbing and heating systems.

Essential Duties:

Installs new plumbing including pipes valves drains basins faucets lavatories sinks drinking fountains hot water heaters and a variety of other plumbing fixtures and equipment;

Repairs plumbing systems including pipelines;

Repairs chilled and heated water systems;

Repairs various appliances including laundry and kitchen equipment;

Reads and interprets blueprints and written instructions;

Provides assistance to building maintenance as needed;

And confers with supervisor concerning construction alteration maintenance and repair projects.

Other Duties as assigned.

This is a non-supervisory position.

Education

High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.

Experience

At least three years of experience.

Certificates Licenses Registrations

Texas Journeyman Plumbers license.

Read and interpret blueprints manuals and written instructions; operate electrical and plumbing equipment; apply safety standards to prevent hazards; estimate time and materials for projects; communicate effectively; tolerate adverse working conditions; work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
