Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday–Thursday with a 4-day workweek. Choose Noon–10:00 pm or 2:00 pm–12:30 am.
Compensation: Competitive base pay + $2/hr shift differential, plus a $4,000 sign-on bonus .
What your day looks likeYou’ll step into a clean, organized work cell and take ownership of complex CNC setups and production runs. You’ll interpret blueprints and setup documentation, load and dial in tooling, and run multi-operation programs to produce precision parts within tight tolerances. Throughout the shift, you’ll monitor quality, adjust offsets, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with programmers and support teams to keep production flowing.
Core responsibilities- Read and apply process sheets, blueprints, setup cards/sheets, machine status boards, and written/verbal instructions.
- Machine, install, or re-cut chuck jaws as needed.
- Load and secure tooling in machine turrets; use hand tools and manual machines when required.
- Perform machine setups with minimal guidance and verify proper gauge calibration.
- Download/upload CNC programs; make minor edits and programming adjustments.
- Operate various CNC controls to complete turning, drilling, milling, and tapping operations, holding tight tolerances.
- Adjust offsets to account for material variation, tooling condition, or machine-center factors.
- Diagnose issues, perform advanced troubleshooting, and apply corrective actions.
- Inspect your own work against specifications; complete required documentation and inspect peers’ work when assigned.
- Train less experienced machinists; step in for the Production Group Leader when needed.
- Run multiple machines and rotate through department work centers as required.
- Enter production data into the ERP system and support continuous improvement/RBS initiatives.
- Proven experience on CNC lathes or CNC mills (proficiency across two machine types preferred), including intermediate-level setups.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of related CNC machining experience with strong knowledge of CNC machining principles and methods.
- Solid shop math skills; ability to read/interpret blueprints and work instructions in English.
- External candidates must pass a Machinist test measuring mechanical aptitude.
- Physically able to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs; frequent handling of tooling, setups, inspections, and machine adjustments.
