As an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, including but not limited to: Enforcing safety regulations Conducting daily safety communications Monitoring monthly safety activity Conducting safety inspections as needed Directing the work of union represented craft personnel responsible for maintaining operating equipment through time-based, predictive, maintenance programs. Resolving equipment malfunctions requiring scheduled shutdowns or emergency breakdown action Maintain spares inventory Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed Applicants must problem solve and make decisions, read blue prints and schematics, use desktop computer for assignments, reporting, and limited word processing. Electrical Supervisors must have knowledge of industrial power equipment transformers, switchgear up to 13.8kvDC & AC drives, including variable speed AC drives programmable Logic Controllers, failure analysis skills, and a basic knowledge of mechanical systems. Requires solid interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Successfully applicants may be required to work rotating turn schedules and may be required to be on call on off schedule days. Responsibilities This first level supervisory position manages and coordinates the maintenance activities or operations on an assigned shift or multiple shifts within a single operations department or unit Requires high level of technical proficiency to supervise production or maintenance activities and assist operators with troubleshooting and problem resolution Performs a variety of tasks independently that contributes to the effective communication and instruction of the methods, practices, and programs of the company Responsible for personnel matters, including training, development, discipline, safety programs and policies for direct reports Supervises completion of work assignments following established department plans; makes daily assignments and participates in training and development of A2 level Shift Managers Directs the activities of employees on an assigned shift to ensure maintenance, service, or production functions are performed and completed within established timing, quality, and cost standards Monitors established performance indicators and continually works to identify, prioritize, and evaluate opportunities for improvement Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED 3 years" equivalent work experience in heavy manufacturing and 2 years" supervisory experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment for this position. Will accept 2 years" of military experience in a leadership position in lieu of the 3 years" experience requirements listed above Preferred Requirements Bachelor"s or Associates degree in an electrical field, including engineering or electrical field work, maintenance supervision or equivalent experience, with 5 years" experience working in electrical role in a manufacturing/industrial environment
