Assistant Project Manager – Historic Restoration Construction
Location: Plain City, Ohio (Headquarters)
The Tradesmen Group LLC (TTG) is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Plain City, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, flexible, and capable of managing multiple tasks across various projects and company operations. The ideal candidate will have either a 2-year degree in construction management or at least 5 years of experience working on commercial renovation or restoration projects. Experience in historic restoration is a plus but not required.
TTG is a 100% employee-owned, nationally recognized construction firm specializing in the restoration and rehabilitation of historically significant buildings. With offices and yards serving Washington, D.C., Nashville/Chattanooga, TN, and Savannah, GA, TTG self-performs a wide range of trades including masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, and painting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing small to large-scale projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements and schedules
- Attend and participate in project meetings as needed
- Analyze project plans and assist in sourcing quotes from subcontractors and vendors
- Support construction administration tasks and initiatives
- Generate reports, manage multiple projects, and prepare correspondence, forms, and other documentation
- Compile and submit project submittals, RFIs, and change orders per specifications and drawings
- Track all submittals and RFIs using project management software
- Provide support to senior management on larger-scale projects during all phases (solicitation, pre-construction, construction, and close-out)
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in construction or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Coursework or experience in construction management or business administration
- Familiarity with reading plans and construction terminology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office365, Teams)
- Comfortable using software for spreadsheets, databases, and document management
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Construction industry experience or internship preferred
