What You Will Do

As a .NET Software Developer, you will play a key role in modernizing the Support Enforcement and Tracking System (SETS) by migrating a complex mainframe solution to a cloud-based, microservices-driven architecture. This position involves designing scalable solutions, ensuring data integrity and application security, and implementing cutting-edge technologies within Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate with business teams, IT leadership, and external partners to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables while managing risk and maintaining system reliability for existing users. Strong proficiency in .NET (C#), SQL Server, and Azure services is essential for building high-performing applications that meet cost-efficiency and scalability requirements.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using .NET(C#)/.NET Core and related frameworks.
  • Build RESTful APIs and microservices tailored for deployment in Azure Container Apps (ACA).
  • Develop data access logic using SQL Server, including stored procedures, functions, and optimized queries.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to automate build, test, deployment, and release processes.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure alignment with best practices across the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications for performance and reliability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Travel: Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

OPTION 1 :

  • 60 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met.


    AND

  • 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting (.NET).

OPTION 2 :

  • Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems.


    AND
  • 42 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met.


    AND

  • 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting (.NET).


    OPTION 3
    :

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems


    AND
  • 36 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met.


    AND
  • 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting (.NET).



    Or

  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 35. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $40.59 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
