About the Role:

As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a critical role in protecting the organization's information systems and data from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Your primary objective will be to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures that safeguard digital assets and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will continuously monitor network activity to detect and respond to security incidents, minimizing potential risks and disruptions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop security policies, conduct risk assessments, and provide expert guidance on best practices to enhance the overall security posture. Ultimately, your efforts will help maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information systems, supporting business continuity and trust.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Proven experience in cybersecurity roles involving threat detection, incident response, and risk management.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or GDPR.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Experience with cloud security platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with advanced threat intelligence and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.
• Prior experience in a security operations center (SOC) or incident response team.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze network traffic and security alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with industry standards.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to evaluate system defenses.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate security best practices into system design and operations.
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to proactively enhance defenses.
• Provide training and awareness programs to employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
• Maintain documentation related to security incidents, policies, and compliance requirements.
