Tool & Die Level II
What you’ll do:
- Work collaboratively with Engineering to design, modify, or repair tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment by interpreting engineering prints, specifications, routing sheets, sketches, and verbal instructions; perform associated manufacturing, machining, fitting, assembly, and setup operations.
- Perform visual
and
dimensional inspections
and
maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5
and
the certified operator program.
- Assistance may be given to other operators on proper operational procedures.
- Plan, develop
and
manufacture a variety of equipment such as
tools, jigs, fixtures, master
dies, molds, gauges, inspection equipment, etc., used to manufacture
and/or repair components or equipment.
- Set up
and
operate machining
and
grinding equipment,
and
perform layout, fitting, assembly, and
manufacturing operations including milling, drilling, turning, polishing, etc.
- Use existing, or develop new methods, processes,
and
equipment to plan
and
execute manufacturing
and/or repair operations on equipment
and
components.
- May on occasion be required to develop, set up
and
operate prototype, sample, or experimental procedures or production lots to test newly developed production methods of
tooling.
- Use a full range of hand
and
power
tools, as well as a variety of measuring devices equipment to perform job duties
and
check progress
and
quality of work, including under black light.
- Perform necessary preparatory work which involves layout.
Make all necessary set ups which may involve standard or improvised holding devices.
Select, install,
and
dress abrasive wheels most suitable for the phase of work being ground such as contours, radii, angles, etc.
Interpret prints of a complex nature
and
layout sequence of work in most efficient manner possible.
Establish proper angular table settings to perform manual forming operations on work requiring the grinding or compound radii
and
angles.
- Occasionally do brazing to affix inserts to
tool shanks.
- Review
tool
room supplies, such as
tooling, build materials.
- Maintain accurate lot control (QCP 6.0) traceability, record keeping, logbook entries, NCR’s (QCP 11.0)
and
associated documentation.
- Perform minor machine maintenance, maintain a clean and organized work area, move materials within the cell, and complete required part marking in accordance with production and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications: - Verifiable Skilled Machinist Certification (i.e. Tool & Die Apprentice Program, Journeyman Machinist Program, UAW Apprentice Program, etc.) and have four (4) years’ experience in set up and operation of one or more machine tools (i.e., mills, lathes, drills, grinders) to generate precision parts, including two (2) years full-time CNC machining (resume and/or application must provide detailed work from past employer including this experience).

- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Euclid, OH (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
Skills:
Position Criteria: - Pass an Eaton vision test.
- Become a Certified Operator.
- Perform 5S and other duties as assigned.
