Financial Planning & Analytics Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

The FP&A Analyst will play a critical support role within the Finance organization, assisting the FP&A lead with financial modeling, reporting, and strategic analysis.

This position is designed to offload and support a wide variety of ad hoc FP&A projects , recurring reporting responsibilities, and cross‑departmental analytical needs. The Analyst will work closely with Finance leadership and collaborate with Operations, Accounting, and Sales to ensure accurate reporting, timely insights, and strong execution of FP&A processes.

The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, detail‑oriented, and eager to work on high‑impact projects in a fast‑moving environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ad Hoc Analytical Projects (Core Responsibility)

• Support and lead cross‑functional, data‑heavy projects.
• Perform analysis, modeling, scenario planning, and research for strategic initiatives.
• Prepare executive‑ready presentations and insights in partnership with the FP&A lead
• Handle complex, one‑off requests with speed, accuracy, and strong ownership.

2. Weekly & Monthly Reporting Support

Weekly Flash Reporting

• Prepare and distribute weekly flash reports to leadership.
• Maintain and enhance reporting accuracy, metrics, and automation.

Monthly Close Support

• Maintain and update the financial statement (FS) model.
• Assist with variance analysis, monthly flux explanations, and WIP/Gain‑Fade analysis.
• Support internal MD&A preparation and inventory reserve updates.

3. Commission Model Support

• Collect, validate, and structure data used for commission calculations.
• Support the rollout and ongoing administration of the new commission model.
• Improve tracking, documentation, and reporting around payouts.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist with income statement variance analysis (Budget vs. Actual / Budget vs. Forecast).
• Monitor performance trends and highlight emerging issues to leadership.
• Support updates to revenue, margin, and SG&A forecasts.

5 Technology & Business Intelligence Support

• Support the development of the company’s new business intelligence (BI) system, which will serve as the foundation for Power BI reporting.
• Assist in collecting, organizing, and defining key data elements to ensure consistent and accurate reporting structures.
• Participate in building and validating data pipelines to improve data reliability.
• Perform routine data integrity checks to ensure accuracy and completeness before dashboards and reports are generated.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Operations to clarify data definitions and resolve discrepancies.
• Contribute to the creation and enhancement of Power BI dashboards once the BI foundation is in place.

6. M&A / Integration Support (As Needed)

• Assist in preparing consolidated models for all entities.
• Support onboarding and integration of newly acquired businesses into reporting processes.

7. Board & Executive Materials Support

• Partner with the CFO and Chief of Staff to assist with quarterly board decks.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clear messaging in executive‑level materials.

RELATIONSHIPS / REPORTING STRUCTURE

• Reports directly to the FP&A lead
• Works closely with the CFO on strategic and reporting‑related tasks.
• Partners with Accounting, Operations, Sales, and other internal teams.

Bonus ​A bonus may l be paid based upon meeting or exceeding 3-5 agreed upon employment measurable objectives and the budgeted annual financial performance targets and strategic initiatives. 

Vacation ​ (PTO) prorated for the first year of employment based on start date. The following National Holidays are also observed: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Health care  ​You will become eligible to enroll in the company’s health insurance program following a sixty (60) day waiting period. Coverage will begin on the first day of the month following the completion of this waiting period. The benefits package includes medical, prescription drug (RX), dental, vision, and a $50,000 life insurance policy. Retirement:  ​The company offers a competitive 401(k) retirement program, which has historically included a total contribution of up to 10% of an employee’s annual earnings (3% safe harbor contribution and an additional 7% discretionary contribution),subject to annual review.

​Eligibility for participation begins on either January 1st or July 1st following the completion of one year of continuous employment.
