Executive Assistant

Based in Canton, OH

Teamsters Local 92 in Canton, OH represents 1,800 members across multiple industries spanning much of the Eastern side of the state of Ohio, working in the food and beverage industry, construction industry, logistics industry, and more. We are an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 41, the Ohio Conference of Teamsters, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Local 92 is hiring an Executive Assistant to work with the President, Executive Board and staff of the Local to best serve our members. The Executive Assistant role is to perform the following duties:

• Serve as the first point of contact for union members and employers in person and by phone, screen and direct calls, take and relay messages.
• Perform typing, proof-reading, copying, filing and other clerical support.
• Manage organizational calendar including sending out bargaining and grievance handling notices, meeting notices and reminders.
• Provide logistical support for meetings, events and travel such as membership meetings, bargaining, and officer and staff travel.
• Process outgoing and incoming mail, and monitor general office email to ensure that communications and information are routed to the proper recipient.
• Maintain an inventory of office supplies.
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all databases and related systems.
• Assist with audits.
• Prepare material for the monthly Executive Board & General Membership Meetings.
• Processing dues payments using the TITAN system (Teamsters Information Terminal Accounting) and directing members regarding dues payments and advice of payment
• Balancing deposits of dues monies: daily, weekly, and monthly
• Maintaining member records in the TITAN system
• QuickBooks: recording deposits, writing checks, payroll, reports, reconciliation, quarterly tax filings, LM2s.
• Other duties as assigned

We are seeking candidates who are committed to the labor movement and enjoy working collaboratively. Qualifications include:

• Microsoft Office software (primarily Word and Excel)
• Clerical work / office administration (2 years prior experience preferred)
• Working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation.
• QuickBooks (accounts payable, payroll, filing tax returns)

This is a full-time salaried position. Hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Salary range based on experience $55,000 – $65,000. Compensation includes participation in the Teamsters Local 92 Health and Welfare Fund, Central States Pension Fund, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
