Histology Technician
Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Histology Technician, where you will play a vital role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination to assist in accurate diagnoses and research. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, utilizing your expertise in laboratory procedures, specimen processing, and pathology to support patient care and scientific discovery. Duties
- Prepare tissue specimens through grossing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting for microscopic analysis
- Collect and process biological samples following strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination
- Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, specimen tracking, and test results
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and uphold high standards of patient care during specimen handling
- Support diagnostic activities by preparing samples according to protocols and assisting with data collection
- Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of quality specimens for diagnosis or study
Experience
- Prior clinical laboratory experience or laboratory experience involving histological techniques is required
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures including tissue processing, staining methods, and microscopy techniques
- Experience with specimen collection methods
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, pathology concepts, and physiology relevant to histology work
- Hands-on experience in hospital or clinical settings with patient interaction and specimen management
- Understanding of laboratory safety standards including aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow detailed protocols accurately while maintaining efficiency

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
