Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. This role takes ownership of critical areas of the close process, performs detailed financial analysis, and supports the integrity of accounting records across multiple entities.

The position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Senior Accountant serves as a technical resource within the accounting function and supports continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

Requirements

Month-End Close & General Ledger

• Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments.
• Own key components of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly supported and recorded.

Account Reconciliations & Analysis

• Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile intercompany balances across multiple entities and currencies.
• Analyze financial results, including variance analysis on revenue, expenses, and key accounts.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring further review or adjustment.

Financial Reporting

• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Support delivery of accurate and timely financial information to management.
• Contribute to the development of reporting schedules and supporting documentation.

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Assist in the execution of annual audits and other compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.

Operational Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records, including tracking assets and liabilities and ensuring proper documentation.
• Support accounting processes related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash as needed.
• Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
• Support ERP system processes and improvements related to accounting workflows.
• Assist in developing and maintaining documentation of accounting procedures.

Cross-Functional Support

• Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial visibility.
• Provide guidance and support to staff accountants and other team members as needed.
• Support the Controller with ad hoc analysis and special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
