CNC Oxy & Plasma Machine Operator

As a CNC Oxy & Plasma Machine Operator, you will play a key role in the production process by operating advanced CNC machinery to cut steel plate to precise specifications. Responsibilities

• Operate CNC oxy-fuel and plasma cutting machines to cut steel plate according to specifications.
• Optimize material usage by determining the best nesting of plate material to minimize waste.
• Follow detailed instructions and specifications to produce required parts accurately.
• Visually inspect finished parts and measure tolerances using a tape measure.
• Verify material grade using a color coding system.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and document activities according to company standards.
• Maintain the cutting surface, including assisting with re-slating of tables as needed.
• Record production numbers in accordance with company procedures.
• Assist the department in achieving quality and productivity goals.
• Use overhead cranes to move parts and materials as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating cutting machines (plasma, laser, or oxy-fuel) preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16” increment, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to distinguish colors for material identification.
• Experience using overhead cranes is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with CNC machinery and/or cutting tables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including rotating weekends as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods on hard or uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
