Healspace LLC and Talbot Health Services provide behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services through evidence-based, person-centered care focused on long-term recovery, stability, and whole-person wellness. Our multidisciplinary team supports individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health needs through compassionate and individualized treatment services.

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and motivated Counselors to join our Monroe Street team.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

We encourage applicants at multiple credential levels to apply, including individuals beginning their clinical careers and experienced behavioral health professionals.

Position Summary

The Counselor is responsible for providing direct clinical services and recovery support to individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services. Responsibilities include individual counseling, group facilitation, treatment planning, documentation, crisis support, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

This position plays a critical role in supporting treatment engagement, recovery progression, and positive client outcomes.

Services and documentation are expected to meet agency standards, OhioMHAS expectations, Medicaid requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Provide individual counseling utilizing evidence-based and recovery-focused approaches
• Facilitate psychoeducational, therapeutic, and process groups
• Participate in assessment activities and treatment planning processes
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans and updates
• Monitor treatment participation and client progress toward goals
• Identify barriers impacting recovery and collaborate on interventions
• Complete documentation accurately and within required timelines
• Coordinate care with nursing, medical, residential, and case management teams
• Participate in treatment team meetings and care planning discussions
• Provide crisis support and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support discharge planning and continuity of care efforts
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional boundaries

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the following Ohio credentials:

• CDCA
• LCDC II
• LCDC III
• LICDC
• LPC
• LPCC
• LSW
• LISW
• MFT
• Other qualifying Ohio behavioral health credentials

Additional qualifications:

• Active Ohio credential in good standing required
• Candidates actively pursuing advancement in licensure are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery principles preferred
• Experience within behavioral health, healthcare, or addiction treatment settings preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills required
• Electronic health record experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within OhioMHAS-certified treatment settings
• Experience facilitating groups and treatment planning
• Experience working with co-occurring populations
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria and person-centered treatment planning
• Knowledge of Medicaid documentation requirements
• Experience with motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care
