Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Job Title: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pediatric ICU
• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP: 43205)
• Employment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric ICU (PICU), Respiratory Therapy
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: May include weekends as needed
• Floating: Required to CTICU, NICU, H8A (pulmonary), Core (general/ED)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,250 - $2,310

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) experience in a hospital setting
• Active Ohio State RRT license (must be current at time of application)
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, RRT
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Experience with ventilators: Hamilton G5, T1 Travel Vent, or MRI ventilator (Hamilton preferred)
• Experience with Respironics Trilogy and Respironics V60 ventilators required
• Two supervisory references (one must be from a supervisor or manager)
• Ability to float to multiple units (CTICU, NICU, pulmonary, general/ED)
• Must not have worked perm for Nationwide in the last 2 years; no local candidates within 60-mile radius

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults in the PICU
• Perform advanced respiratory therapies: ABG interpretation, aerosol therapy, intubation assistance, ventilator management, and weaning
• Operate specialized respiratory equipment: Metaneb, cough assist, vests, cuirass, aerogens, heliox, and multiple ventilator types
• Float to CTICU, NICU, pulmonary, and general/ED units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic
• Care for long-term trach vent patients and those with complex respiratory conditions
• Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced clinical environment
