Job Title: Deli Manager

Job Summary:
The Deli Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the deli department at Schafer Market. This role ensures high-quality food preparation, excellent customer service, proper inventory management, and a clean, safe work environment. The Deli Manager leads and develops team members while driving sales and maintaining department profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day deli operations, including food preparation, merchandising, and customer service
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations are strictly followed
• Prepare and oversee production of deli items such as hot foods, salads, sandwiches, and fried foods
• Maintain high standards for product quality, freshness, and presentation
• Order, receive, and manage inventory to minimize waste and control costs
• Create employee schedules, manage labor hours, and ensure adequate staffing
• Train, supervise, and motivate deli team members
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, equipment, and storage

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service or deli management preferred
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer and ordering system knowledge

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, and fast-paced environments

Schedule:

• Flexible availability required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
