Job Title: Java Architect

Location : Wilmington, Delaware 5 Days Onsite

Experience Level : Intermediate (7+ years)

Domain Requirement : Banking domain experience is required

Role Overview

We are seeking a Java Architect with strong expertise in application and enterprise-level architecture, particularly within the banking/credit card domain. The ideal candidate will have experience with architectural governance, security best practices, and guiding technical teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent product families in technical governance bodies; provide feedback and propose improvements to governance practices.
• Create architectural documentation for both application-specific and multi-application/product space designs based on business, technology inputs, firm standards, and risk management needs.
• Evaluate current technologies and lead assessments of new technologies using established standards and frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review/debug code written by others.
• Drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more technology or architecture focus areas.
• Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC best practices across the engineering community.
• Influence peers and project leaders to adopt and apply leading-edge technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Banking domain experience (Credit Card industry experience highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of architecture governance practices.
• Hands-on experience with security standards and patterns (PCI, Tokenization, Encryption).
• Ability to manage design considerations and priorities across multiple stakeholders.
• Expertise in Domain Driven Design (DDD) concepts.
• Familiarity with C4 diagram constructs and architectural modeling.
• Strong coding background with ability to deliver and review secure, production-quality Java code.
