Essential Functions & Primary Duties:- Drive activities to hit utilization targets across practice groups (Audit, Tax and Advisory)
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the RM team and the use of the scheduling softwares
- Meet productivity standards for individuals and practice groups
- Reports to the National Financial Services Operations Leader
- Lead the organization from current state to RM as a strategic discipline
- Lead efforts to drive the creation and adoption of consistent business practices
- Capacity based budgeting/Forecasting
- Cross-office sharing of resources
- Documenting and measuring process effectiveness (utilization %, scheduled to actual, scheduled to budgeted, employee retention rates, etc.)
- Manage vendor relationships, optimize the process of vendor support for application development and reporting for resource management solutions.
- Establish and oversee reporting for use in individual Scorecards to measure performance
- Understand and influence staffing to achieve proper leverage and pricing goals
- Expert knowledge of practice groups
- Quickly recognize and act upon business trends on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
- Diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions, striking the right balance between speed/flexibility and process consistency
- Lead the RM teams collaboration with HR linking individual career goals with appropriate workforce planning
- Close coordination with recruiting resources to properly project staffing needs at all levels
- Work with Regional and Service Line resource management teams to understand staffing trends (including surpluses and shortages) and provide recommendations to optimize utilization and leverage
- Design and oversee implementation of system to capture and maintain staff skills profiles
- Close coordination with offshoring to maintain proper mix of onshoring/offshoring
- Managing relationships with contract/contingent labor vendors, etc.
- Collaborate with all other functional and service lines to achieve overall business goals
- Oversee the professional development of a team of direct reports
- Oversee connections with Resource Managers embedded in local office and practice groups
- Ability to use technology (analytical tools, Professional Services Automation and resource management software)
- Adaptable and able to thrive in ambiguous work situations
- Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills,
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
- Must possess critical thinking, analytical and forecasting skills
- Interpersonal interaction skills (effective communication, negotiation, collaboration, the ability to be diplomatic and stand ones ground)
- Must be equally comfortable as both a strategic team member and as a hands-on contributor
- Extensive knowledge of operations within the accounting firm industry
- Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
- Previous experience as a project/resource/HR manager
- Bachelors degree in human resource management, business management or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years relevant work experience in a Resource Management environment
- Ability to travel as required by business
