What Youll Do: As a Painter/Blaster, youll be an integral part of our shipyard operations, ensuring that marine vessels and equipment are expertly prepared and coated for long-lasting durability. Your work will keep our projects looking sharp and functioning at their best. Key Responsibilities Include: Surface Preparation and Coating: Perform abrasive blasting to remove rust, paint, and debris, preparing surfaces for painting. Apply high-quality coatings using brushes, spray guns, or rollers to metal, fiberglass, and wood surfaces. Use precision techniques to mix and match paint colors and ensure even application. Sand, polish, and finish coatings to meet exact specifications. Equipment and Safety Maintenance: Maintain and inspect all blasting and painting equipment to ensure optimal performance. Use appropriate safety gear, including respirators, gloves, boots, and PVC blast suits, while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Inspection and Team Collaboration: Inspect finished surfaces for quality and adherence to specifications. Work closely with a supportive team to achieve project goals on time and to a high standard. Assist in the training and mentoring of new team members. What Were Looking For: Experience: Background in industrial painting and abrasive blasting, especially in a shipyard or marine environment, is a plus. Skills: Ability to work with precision tools and techniques to ensure high-quality results. Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift and transport up to 75 pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks while wearing protective gear.
