Shape Reliable Tarping Systems with Precision Aluminum Welding

The Advance Group is partnering with a manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH to add a detail-oriented Aluminum MIG Welder to the team on a day schedule. Your work will directly support the build of retractable tarping systems for semi-trailers used across the region.

A day in this role

You’ll start your shift reviewing work orders and measurements, then move to the weld cell to produce clean, cosmetically accurate beads on aluminum components. Throughout the day you’ll measure, cut, and fit materials; assemble beams and rails; and verify quality at each step. You’ll operate drills, grinders, buffers, pallet jacks, and a scissor lift (10–12 ft) to position parts and complete builds. As units progress, you’ll package and label materials, keeping documentation and instructions close at hand.

What you’ll do

• MIG weld aluminum for retractable trailer tarping systems
• Measure, cut, assemble, repair, and install components to spec
• Use hand tools to build beams and rails; read and follow written instructions and orders
• Operate equipment: drills, scissor lift, grinders, buffers, pallet jacks, and related machinery
• Perform accurate measurements with a ruler; add/subtract fractions confidently
• Move materials from floor to tables; bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods
• Inspect finished work for quality and cosmetic standards; package and label materials
• Lift materials repeatedly, up to 75 lbs

Pay and schedule

• $19–$22 per hour, based on experience
• Monday–Friday, 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (day shift)
• Overtime as needed until 3:00–4:00 p.m.; occasional Saturday overtime

What you bring

• Hands-on MIG welding experience with aluminum and clean, aesthetically pleasing welds
• Comfort with power drills and shop machinery; strong hand-tool skills
• Solid math skills; ruler reading and fraction calculations
• Comfort working at height (scissor lift to 10–12 ft)
• Ability to work at a fast pace and perform repetitive tasks safely
• Stamina to stand, bend, twist, kneel/crawl and then return to standing regularly
• Capability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly
• High school diploma or GED
