Civil Construction Laborer

Job Description

The Construction Laborer assists with excavating electrical duct banks and utility vaults as part of our underground utility projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in excavating for utility vault installations related to underground utilities.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete excavation tasks.
• Help prepare sites for utility vault placement by ensuring proper depth and alignment.
• Perform backfilling and site restoration after vault installation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety.
• Follow directions from supervisors and experienced laborers to ensure project accuracy.
• Conduct site inspections and report any issues or hazards to supervisors.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site.
• Participate in training sessions to improve skills and knowledge of civil construction practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in construction or labor work is a plus, but not required.
• Basic knowledge of trenching and cement vault installation processes is advantageous.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Reliable transportation to/from jobsites.
