Summary

Seeking a motivated Engineering undergraduate student to support a research project on Multiphysics modeling and insulation design optimization of glass melting furnaces. The project focuses on improving thermal efficiency and reducing energy loss using computational analysis and data-driven design approaches.

Essential Functions

• Assist with running simulations using an already developed computational model
• Support parametric studies by modifying input conditions (Glass furnace wall thickness, and furnace materials configurations)
• Perform data analysis, visualization, and interpretation of results
• Help compare and rank different insulation design configurations
• Assist in preparing reports, figures, and documentation
• Support general research activities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field
• Basic understanding of Engineering design concepts
• Strong interest in mechanical and manufacturing research, or applied engineering research
• Familiarity with Excel, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis (preferred but not required)

Additional Information

• This position provides hands-on experience in applied engineering research, data analysis, and energy-efficient design, with exposure to real-world industrial problems.
